Meeting of X-Noise EV Project Russian Group
At the end of September, the first organizational meeting of the X-Noise EV Project Russian Group was held in Svetlogorsk, Kaliningrad region at the same time as the «Computational experiment in aeroacoustics» Open All-Russian scientific and practical conference was held.
The X-Noise Net was created in 1998 within the EC project of the same name. It consolidates the scientific, industrial and educational aviation centers of Europe in order to coordinate joint research in aeroacoustics and to extend the activities within the EC FP Programs on Scientific and technological development of EC (FP4, FP5, FP6).
Over the last five years TsAGI and X-Noise Net have cooperated closely. Viktor Kopiev, head of the aeroacoustic research department, is a member of a Scientific Committee of the Net. But until recently Russia and the CIS countries were represented by other states. In January 2010, within the EC FP7, an X-Noise EV project was prepared, supported by the EC. In accordance with the new project the Russian Federation is a formal partner of X-Noise. TsAGI is charged with coordinating the creation of an X-Noise National Focal Point in Russia.
During a previous meeting Professor Viktor Kopiev presented a report about the X-Noise EV project. The authority and responsibilities of the Russian representatives-members of a Russian Net were confirmed (http://www.tsagi.ru/rus/about/partners/xnoise/). In addition an X-Noise EV Net Russian Group working program on national developments and ways to integrate into the global research process was presented. The opening of a new project will take place the 17th of December, 2010 in Lisbon, Portugal.
